Izunami is a band from Southeastern Kentucky.
Originally known as Kanashii,
a Japanese word
that translates to sad, miserable, unhappy, or sorrowful person. The band decided to use this name since the original creation of the band was to be an outlet to help cope with negative emotions.
in the year 2023 the band has been reborn as Izunami is based on the Japanese goddess of creation/Destruction.
